I become pitiful to those who talk about religion and faith without having knowledge about either of these. Not to mention that Jesus is not a factor in their lives.
I have been thinking that if someone is talking about his or her faith in God without knowing Him, this is equivalent to a situation when someone is talking about love without ever being in love. This situation resembles a person who preaches to people who already have children on how to bring them up without ever having raised children himself or herself.
Something becomes too obvious in the thinking of ugodly – namely that religion is for the weak. In those people’s minds, religion is like a crutch and is only necessary until the moment when man can walk on his own again. Religion is not for the strong people. Such believe in themselves and this belief drives them forward.
I asked myself the question why Jesus was so hated by the Pharisees, and not only by them but also by the majority of people nowadays? The truth is Jesus was telling those people believing in themselves as well as the strong, the powerful ones, the ones who can see, that they are not gods, that they are weak and blind. In fact, the claim that religion (mainly Christianity) is for the weak is absolutely true. The weak need strength, the blind need to be able to see again and the sick need to be healed. That main paradox however is that in actual fact the weak are those who are truly strong, the blind can see and the sick are the healthy ones. To be objective and to be able to acknowledge the truth are great strengths. The truth, in actual fact, is that the world we live in is gravely sick. People’s souls hurt so much. We annihilate and hate each other and the worm of evil destroys everything. But only the strong person, who in this case turns up to be the weak one, can admit that!
I am asking myself how someone who is not even capable of wining the victory over his own self can have such a strong belief in himself? Such a person is a slave of his own self. He or she cannot stop ageing or avoid death, does not possess the ultimate knowledge, does not know what the future holds…What exactly within his own self can he or she believe in? Maybe that he will not lose someone close to him, that he will never be hurt or that he can live forever or that he can control the processes in his body, which he had been given for granted? Or, perhaps he can believe in himself because he possesses certain skills and talents? The latter sounds even more naïve. The terms describing the skills and talents prompt that they originate from outside ourselves in a sense that we have not created them but we are simply using them. This cannot be a good justification of the belief in our own selves. The Pharisees strongly believed in themselves. They were not atheists. On the contrary, they were ultra-religious. But they were gritting their teeth in anger when Jesus was throwing them off the throne on which they were elevated. Their self-belief had chased the faith in God away and God had become their servant. They were unable to see this. They were accusing Jesus of gathering together with whores and sinners; His answer to their accusations was very simple and succinct: “Only the sick need a doctor, not the ones who are healthy; my mission is not to summon the righteous but the sinners and to bring penitence upon them”. His simple words subjected to irony their self-praise of being healthy people. He showed them that they are the sickest because they do not see their misery.
I get agitated by the pride of those Bulgarians who are non-believers or, more precisely, of the pseudo-believers who believe in themselves and look down upon their “religious” fellow citizens and despise them. I get agitated because they are blind and do not see their misery and enormous need for vision and healing. But at the same time I become very pitiful towards them because despite putting themselves on pedestal, they are miserable and unhappy sinners, thirsty for love and recognition.
The state of our nation reminds me of the adolescence period in human life. At this age, one knows everything! The world looks simple and they (the youngsters) are ready to solve the problems of mankind in a single stroke. However, this does not last for a long time. After a few bruises, head bumps and stumbles, the reality starts getting inside the child’s mind. I hope the faith in God will follow a similar development path. God will gradually be rising and we will be diminishing as soon as we start becoming aware of our own insignificance and His greatness.

Photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lorrainemd/18177429/sizes/o/

Exercising the Freedom

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 256px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_tib34QBX0f8/Sltl2I7GXbI/AAAAAAAAED8/k3XvS4a9iCM/s320/whirlpoolspace.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357988162470043058" />
I will now continue writing on the topic of predestination and free will.
With regard to the question whether man is spiritually dead and have no spiritual sense and ability to respond to God’s summons, there are different concepts and claims. It is a fact, however, that the written works and the debates on this topic begin to flourish around and after the Reformation. Jesus’ teachings as a whole do not nourish this debate. Only certain parts of the Gospels and especially of John’s and Paul’s Messages had been selected and consequently provided a basis for building, often controversial, claims. When the message of the Bible, however, is taken into consideration in its completeness, the topic in question does not emerge. On the contrary, man is always given a choice and he is being encouraged to turn into the right direction.
The problem with the concept of Calvinism is that it is based on a preliminary conclusion-axiom, namely that God’s summons is irresistible. In other words, if God summons man to return to Him, man cannot refuse. Therefore those who refuse have not been summoned. Another such paradigm is that Christ’s sacrifice is ‘effective’, i.e. it is not possible for Christ to have paid for, and not get anything in return, or cannot have died on the cross without his sacrifice having resulted in an effective salvation. If some people are not saved because of their refusal, the scope of His act of redemption does not stretch over them but only over those who had responded to His summons.
From this point onwards it is evident that the foundations of such a concept have been badly laid. The aim of the discussion that follows is to justify the correctness of the axioms set up before having a real exegetic.
And namely – if man does not to respond to God’s summons, he is assumed to be dead or unable to do it, otherwise the summons is not effective, i.e. of poor quality. The fact that anyone has not responded means that the summons is not strong enough and hence, ineffective. Therefore the next claim of the Calvinists is that God summoned only those who had responded to his summons. This had happened because they were brought back to life and made able to respond by means of the irresistible grace which is given to the summoned.
In actual fact, the story in the Bible, from the very beginning, contradicts the above concepts. Straight after the sinful act of Adam and Eva God finds them and talks to them. It is impossible for a spiritually dead person to talk with God. God even talks to the first murderer – Kain and grants him a special grace – spares his life and brands him to this purpose.
The whole picture of the relationship between God and man is brilliantly illustrated by the life of the prophet Ossiah. God represents, by means of His servant Ossiah, His marriage to the people of Israel and the constant unfaithfulness of His wife. On the other hand, the relationships Israel – YHWH illustrate the relationships between man (mankind) and the Creator.
Despite Ossiah’s wife being unfaithful and leaving him several times to sell herself for money, he finds her, pays the ransom and takes her with him. The pain from the betrayal and humiliation is great, but his love is greater and eventually he wins his wife back.
The relationships between God and man are so much more real and sincere. God could have created a very faithful wife and could have inculcated in her the ability to choose nothing but the predestined. The described mechanism resembles the Calvinist understanding of predestination – when one is relivened, he or she cannot refuse to God. Otherwise one won’t be alive. The state of being dead presumes that one is dead and therefore cannot respond to God. The dead man has no choice. He is doing what dead people do, i.e. nothing. However, how interesting it is that according to the law adopted by us as well as the law quoted by Apostle Paul, dead people cannot be sentenced. The law has no power over the dead as it is concerned only with people who are alive.
Anyway, this discussion will not finish by adding two or three more lines. I will rather leave the reader to make his own conclusions.
Of course more things can be written about what constitutes the “image of God” in us and whether we have completely lost it or not. What is the image of man according to the Old and New Testament thinking? It is also worth noting and mentioning the influence of the Greek thinking upon the New Testament authors regarding what man comprises of.
In Judaism man has never been viewed as made up of three parts – spirit, soul and body (also known as threechotomy) or even two – spirit and body. Man is a complete piece of work and indivisible into parts. Therefore the teaching of resurrection from the dead comes into existence because otherwise the body becomes obsolete. But it actually is an inseparable and indispensable part of the human being. For this reason now Christ represents humankind in the Trinity with His resurrected body. I do not want to to go deeper into the subject and therefore I will jump on to the next issue.
What actually is foreknowledge? The big problem of those who share the opposite view of Calvinism and of many Calvinists themselves is that they perceive foreknowledge as knowledge or vision of events before they have occurred. This to me slightly resembles the abilities of the prophets or clairvoyances or augurs to see in the future. But I would like to be pardoned and excused by those who I would potentially insult by saying that God is not building His plans because He has the gift of seeing what will happen in the future. This is rather limiting to God. Another aspect of foreknowledge is again the personal relationship between God and man. As some of those who read this article would know, the term used to describe a sexual intercourse in the old testament is “to know” which means that much more than a single physical touch and experience is placed into it. This “to know” is merging and achieving a state of completeness of the entire person, deep intimacy. These are things that are almost forever gone in our time… Anyway, in this foreknowledge there is much more of this meaning of unity, not physical but spiritual, rather than advance knowledge about the future.
The truth is that we cannot exist outside of time and to understand how it is possible for something or Someone to exist in timelessness. This means that this Someone is in each point in time unchanged, unchangeable and stays the same, because time has no impact on Him. He knows more neither in the end nor in the beginning of time because there is no beginning or end for Him but only for us. And because we cannot grasp this state of timelessness, we still try to put everything within time frames in order to understand it. However, to reach such an understanding within the limitations of our abilities is impossible. We need to accept the simple fact that God does not take His decisions on the grounds of what He sees in the future, but on the basis of His own will, because His knowledge neither increase nor decrease in time. His knowledge is a constant which does not change in time for He already possesses complete knowledge.
In addition, although already knowing and predestining everything even before the existence of time, He does not deprive man of his free will to choose. On the contrary, God invites man to have mutual relationship with Him.
To conclude, if I have provoked myself and some of the readers and have made them to think, this means that I have achieved my aim. I understand that by sharing these few thoughts I am only scratching the surface but I am genuinely pleased to further explore this subject and will continue to think and seek, and who knows, I may find what I am looking for.
Until soon!

Am I free indeed or what

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 256px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_tib34QBX0f8/ShGcK5Hdr_I/AAAAAAAADrk/2zt3LnOUzc8/s320/whirlpoolspace.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337218744355500018" />
I am editing a book in the area of theology, which comprises of essays of eminent Western theologians. All of them are supporters of Calvinism. For those who are not familiar with the term ‘Calvinism’, it relates to the belief of some people that the world and everything which happens in it are wholly and absolutely predestinated by God.
The topics about the predestination and free will of human beings are very interesting, but at the same time very broad and difficult to explain.
Many of the superficial conclusions in the book provoked me to start thinking and also evoked my irritation. For instance, if we assume that God is waiting for the reaction and the actions of man in order to decide whether to choose or reject him or her, this deprives God of His sovereignty. In other words, if man acts first then God has to follow him and nobody knows what will follow and what the outcome will be. If we assume that God disregards human beings, then how can communication between Him and man occur? God, Who is not limited by time and ability, has already completed his creation (the human being) without allowing man to participate in this process of creation, is therefore talking to Himself. This way He is actually directing a drama whose plot has already been created in His mind and later unveiled in time and space.
In my opinion, God’s genius is evident in the fact that this great drama, despite having already happened in His ‘consciousness’ (if I can define God’s mind in this way), is a drama of both God and man. Man is part of the whole process and he is allowed to participate in shaping his own fate by means of the choices he makes, the feelings he has and the mistakes he makes. This is in no way depriving God of His superiority because He is capable of including man in his plan without this resulting in any surprising consequences which God has to face. This is not depriving Him of His control over everything and does not make Him reactive rather than proactive. An interesting thought which I’d like to critique belongs to Jonathan Edwards and reads as follows: “the unmistakable foreknowledge of an event assumes the necessity for this event and therefore excludes its real freedom”. This means that if someone can predict what will happen, consequently the event must happen, otherwise it cannot be foreseen. This leads on to the conclusion that whoever takes part in the event or executes it has no choice but to carry it out because if the event does not happen, it cannot be foreseen.
This is getting a little bit complicated, isn’t it?
If God has foreseen everything, there is no way that it does not happen because otherwise He won’t be capable of foreseeing it; hence, those who are building up the events are obliged to carry out the events God has foreseen. Therefore, they have no free will, i.e. they cannot do anything else except for what they are obliged to do. They are not free.
To me, this is misuse and mishandling of the logic. The fact that certain events have to happen does not mean that the ones carrying them out are not expressing their will. Quite the opposite! I want to do whatever I have decided and it only happens with the support of my will. It is another matter that I not always have the power to do the things which I want to. But if I had the power I would have done it. For example, I would have introduced the capital punishment for all paedophiles and drug traffickers. And many other things, but “thanks God” (as my wife would have said) that I have no such power, otherwise a lot of people will find themselves in a difficult position. Despite the fact that the events which I choose to do are non-cancellable and mandatory in God’s plan, they are happening not because I am tricked into doing them but rather because as a result of my decision and choice to do them.
Another conclusion which follows from the above discussion is that if the possibility to foresee the events before they occur deprives the participants in these events of their freedom to have a choice different from the one which has already been predetermined, then God Himself deprives Himself of His own freedom to execute His plan. Here is the paradox – God is not free, but in actual fact He is totally free to act according to His own and free will and nothing and nobody can limit Him because there is nobody who is above Him. If there was somebody above Him then God would not be God. The word God in essence means the Ultimate in terms of authority, the greatest, the independent, and everything else of utmost importance.
What a puzzle!
To sum it up, I think the most important conclusion is that we are created in God’s own image! God is building us up in a way to become like Him. God considers us to be His partners. God shares with us. He is creating with us. God is seriously interested in us. This is not a game, but real life itself. God is God and can afford to grant free will to man without this affecting His divinity and omnipotence. How is it possible that there are still people not understanding this? This is something so simple to take in! And at the same time so incomprehensible that even I cannot understand it :)!
Well, at least I try to make an attempt at achieving a partial understanding and I think I have succeeded to an extent. God please help me…

photo:http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/PIA04230

ELECTION CAMPAIGN

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 317px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_tib34QBX0f8/SgnuJX3NzQI/AAAAAAAADp4/QdIGUx-CLqQ/s320/tupalki.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335057078388903170" />
As the Election Day 2009 is fast approaching and the situation in Bulgaria is heating up, I also would like to contribute to the development of my beloved country.
Hatred has always been and continues to be destructive and therefore has to be dealt with and eventually eliminated. This, however, won’t become a reality with the stroke of a magic rod but only if we get to know God, Who is Love. Therefore, we need to seek for and absorb His wisdom and take His advice. Below is a list of the principles which I have been sticking to throughout my life so far. I recommend them to both my friends and (why not) my foes.

1.Respect the opinion of your opponent!
2.Do not use unproven claims to support your arguments!
3.Do not insult anyone!
4.Do not allow political differences to shape your attitude and determine your feelings towards other people!
5.Respect and pray for the authorities which govern you!
6.Do not be afraid to express your opinion!
7.Do not attempt to force your beliefs on to others!
8.Do not intimidate others!
9.Vote according to your conscious and convictions; but by all means, vote!
10.Remember that God is above any authority! He is faultless!
11.Do not use your authority to force your convictions on to other people!
12.Love everyone, even your enemies!
(the last item from the list is achievable only by the followers of Jesus Christ)

THE BAPTISM

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_tib34QBX0f8/SgAzZgs-x4I/AAAAAAAADlU/MQWbooqg5Ws/s320/Christ%27sBaptism.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332318472175011714" />
Today I not only witnessed but I was also actively involved in a great drama. No, I am not being ironic describing this event as ‘dramatic’. On the contrary, I only have feelings of admiration. For the first time in my life all members of a family took baptism together. Moreover, these people are not just strangers to me but close friends.
While I am writing this article, I am asking myself the question whether I will be able to capture the drama of this event and tell the story to the reader in a way that truly reflects my experience.
Here is the story.
An old friend of mine, on his birthday, asked me to baptise him and his daughter. He had been mulling over the thought of devoting himself to God for a long time and now he seemed to have come to a decision.
My intention was first to explain to him, to the best of my ability, the meaning of baptism. For many people the act of baptism is simply a way of calling on God for His mercy so that He will grant the baptised person success and health. Many people think that baptism is the shortcut to a seamless life. Such an understanding of baptism, however, is a blasphemy. Therefore, to make things crystal-clear, I challenged those who wished to be baptised to think twice whether they really wanted to follow Jesus or, in the light of the traditional thinking, they simply desired to be rich and healthy and have a sheltered life. This provoked heated discussions and fears amongst them. The younger members of the family were soon thrown into doubt by the arguments of those representing the older generation. When the situation came to a standstill and I started to consider it a lost cause, the husband’s wife bravely and with determination stood up and said: “I will take baptism today because I want to follow Jesus Christ”. This act of hers had a stronger impact than a nuclear bomb and swept away the “devil’s headquarters”. Her two children, encouraged by their mother’s example, followed her decision.
Eventually, even the older members of the family, who up to this moment were acting as strong opponents, became joyful. As if a hideous wall, which was separating the relatives, came down.
Prayers and tears mixed with the water and made this event even more wonderful. Everybody took out their cameras and I hope there will be amazing photos.
I am curious to know whether anybody who is reading this article will be able to understand what my heartfelt experience actually was. I wish everybody could experience the same as I did. A family threw itself into the hugs of its true Creator – Lord Jesus Christ. A whole family returned back to where their home was.
During the act of baptism, a sacred merging of the sinner with Jesus Christ occurs. What belongs to Jesus becomes property of man, and vice versa. God became one of us due to His enormous love towards human beings. He is however not just an observer. Our sentence, our death sentence due to our sin and revolt against Him, was executed upon Jesus Christ, God Incarnate. He took our punishment. And so, merging with God in the act of baptism, His death becomes our death, as well as His life becomes our life, and our sin becomes His sin. Jesus took upon Himself our sins and bore our sicknesses. And all this in the name of Love towards us!
How beautiful it is that the members of this family merged themselves with God and acquired His treasures. This makes me happy and joyful. I also believe that if this is happening to a family, it is also possible to happen to a whole nation. And this is only the beginning…

THE LIFE IS MINE

Does life really belong to me?
I went back to the church office and saw that I had left my mobile phone there. I looked at it and noted that I had missed a few calls. One of these calls was from an old acquaintance of mine. When I returned the call, however, instead of hearing her voice, another woman answered the phone. She introduced herself and it turned out that she was someone who I had already known. Her first words were that the situation was very serious. Apparently I was not aware of something that had been going on for some time. I asked her immedieately what was wrong and bit by bit I started to realise what had happened.<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 142px; height: 78px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_tib34QBX0f8/SeH9buRSoRI/AAAAAAAADRw/yKipeSjJyTE/s320/Godman.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5323814887247487250" />
The son of the woman who I was talking to collapsed while he was travelling on a tram. Some fellow passengers rushed him to hospital where it turned out that the twenty year old lad had got a stroke. Not bleeding in the brain, but an obstruction of a major blood vessel by a blood clot. While I was on the phone, the boy was put on command breathing. His mum was suffering. She asked me to visit him, to pray for him and to anoint him as the Bible teaches us. I set off to the hospital almost immediately. Another man accompanied me. When we entered the hospital room my heart started to ache. I had known this lad for many years and I had witnessed him being brought up. There was this picture of the young Nikolay in my mind, of him looking at me with his blue-grey eyes. There and then, in the room of the intensive unit, a motionless young man was lying in a coma. As if I saw my own son and the pain in my heart became even stronger.
The brain damage was almost irreversible and, frankly speaking, I went to the hospital mainly to console his parents.
When I put my hand on the lad’s forehead and began to pray, this shook him up and he lifted his arms in an attempt to get up, and he nearly raised his body. I was astonished. Almost every time when I touched him, there was a slight motion in his arms. When we finished, Nikolay was lying motionless and calm in his bed. I knew that the prayer had achieved the desired effect. I didn’t know what would be the outcome. The only thing I was absolutely certain about was that a single word from God’s mouth would be enough to return him to life.
When leaving the room, I gazed at a woman who was sitting on her bed, completely motionless, and had some kind of a mechanism attached to her trachea. Her eyes were very expressive, more than words could be. I stood next to her and asked her if she wished us to pray for her. Apparently this was exactly what her blue-green eyes were asking for. She said yes. I cannot heal people, but Jesus can. I could ask Him, I could be His love and His arms and extend them towards those suffering. At this moment I had such a feeling, which could not be described in words. I felt like as if I sensed a tiny bit of what He feels towards us, His creations.
All kinds of thoughts were rushing through my head. There were disabled people in this hospital, waiting for their bodies to be “repaired”. Most of these people, in fact all of them, had had their plans, intentions, but they had to abandon them at the threshold of this hospital.
It turns out that life cannot be subjected to the power of our wishes and ambitions. It simply comes and goes when we least expect it.
Later that night I couldn’t fall asleep and got out of bed. My mobile phone rang. I was astounded by this very late call and went to see who had dared to call me at this late hour. The number on the display prompted what the message would be. The young, 20-year old man had passed away.
My heart filled with both grief and joy. I was grieving because such a young lad had passed away, without being able to live his full life. I also felt joyful because he was in Christ’s hug, which is the safest place one can imagine.
This event brought me back to the truth that life belongs to God and He is the One who gives and takes it when He decides! On many occasions we take this right from Him and behave like true owners of our lives. But then comes the moment when we realise that we have no power over our life and death and only God has such power. Some people realise this very late when their lives have already been ruined and wasted.
What is my attitude to life? Do I waste it and use it as I wish, or do I seek the advice from Him, who grants life?

"Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise; redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore don`t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is." (Ephesians 5:15)

I do not want to miss a single moment of my life. I do not want to “kill” the time, but to redeem it. I want to live life to the full, keeping all my senses alive. And I know this is what God wants. After all, He has granted life to us to live it purposefully.

A Tale for the Porcupine

Once upon a time a baby porcupine lived in Sofia. It walked boldly back and forth on the busy boulevard. A grandma lived in the same area. She walked by the baby porcupine and saw it making his last steps among the cars. She boldly saved the little animal. Grandma wandered what to do with the little animal, but not for long. She brought the baby animal to her grandson. It was his exact desire – to have baby porcupine. For him all animals were his best comrades and this little one became his new pet. He hugged it, fed it, walked it … and finally decided to bring it home. But it wasn’t possible without the permission of his father. The father said “no”. No more animals at home! This is not a zoo. I would never understand this angry father that I was that angry father.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_tib34QBX0f8/SIop9beb4GI/AAAAAAAABpA/WKVn3UhQaoo/s200/91963545_76f1f25c14.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5227036452841054306" />
So an arguments and begging started. But the father was unmovable, no matter what the boy said. It is better to have porcupine out of your pants, house I mean, than to have it in. At the end, after nothing helped they brought the pet to a wild world outside of Sofia and left it there. The father tried to convince the little son that the porcupine would be much happier if it was free than being prisoner at home. It would eat all kind of insects and some fallen fruits and is going to be all right.
Although the arguments of the father were very convincing, his heart was aching. His son was very sad. The boy was sad because he thought the porcupine was going to die since it is not in his own caring hands anymore. They all prayed in one accord to God asking Him to protect the baby and left it in His mighty hands.
Time passed by and one day the father went through the same place they had left the baby porcupine go free. Suddenly, from the bush alongside the road, a grown up baby porcupine come out and boldly walked in front the car. It didn’t look like it was sick or dying one. It was healthy. It walked enthusiastically as if it was happy at being home. The heart of the father jumped full of joy. He faced the car towards home, pushing the car to go faster, but he forgot to tell the young lad the news. He remembered on the next day and early in the morning woke the boy with the good news. How is he going to react? Instead of getting mad for the early awakening the boy became very happy.
Now the father was free from his aching heart. He knew that to set someone free is better than to satisfy your own selfish desires. The right decision is much better even though it is more difficult and we have to give up the short time of pleasure. We also have to give up our pleasure for the best interest of others. How similar is this concerning the relations with people. If you love someone – set him free.
There is nothing better than the freedom. The free man can make choice.
There is nothing worst than slavery. The slave does not have a choice. Are we slaves? Are we free?
The Greatest one once said: “You will know the truth and it shell set you free”. I love this freedom. The more I know it, the more free I become.

WITHOUT WORDS

I was reading the famous passage in the Gospel. It was for the baptism of Jesus. It bothered me why Jesus, the sinless had to be baptized for repentance and remission from sin? And suddenly I marveled. He actually was reaching to us with His hand and begging us to reconcile with God. He was taking our place, taking our guilt on Himself. It strongly impressed me. When I am arguing with others, I am always right. The other is always wrong. I always want to prove that I am right and poor man is the other, especially when he is wrong indeed. In Jesus case He was right and righteous but He refuse to hold his position and stretch His hand. He took our arrogance and sin and put them on His account. He paid it all. That’s why He went trough baptism. He took our place. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_tib34QBX0f8/SG96ZvxAyDI/AAAAAAAABnc/ZUGNDvobh_A/s200/IMG_0151.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219525075883051058" />
The Mathews story goes on. He paints the picture of havens open and the Spirit coming down on Jesus. It becomes visible by the sign of a dove that descend and land on Christ. While I was reading and meditating I looked at trough the window and saw something white flying. I tried to find out what was that, but couldn’t and just ignored it. When I went to the other room, my wife asked me: “do you know who is our guest today?” Of course I didn’t know. It was a beautiful white dove. The “the white thing” I saw earlier. The dove landed on my chair, on the balcony and calmly stared at me. I brought a bowl with water and piece of bread and left. The bird spent the night on the chair. The next day it was walking on the balcony. I tried to come closer and it went well. After a while the dove flew away. It was over. I thought that was it. It is over. The strange experience is over. But not long after the bird came again. It landed on the balcony, pecked a few crumbs and left again.
The bird didn’t say a word. Just looked at me calmly. It was just a beautiful bird. Nothing special. But for me it was very special. God was talking to me without words, without sounds. He just smiled. He reminded me that He is well pleased with men. He reminded me that He warmly loves the people and wants to restore all that has been in ruins. He is bringing peace. He is bringing real joy; He gives mining of life and future.
I know that God is with me. I know that I have mission. I know that my life has meaning. But often I forget all of that and start living tired, restless and desperate. But a sign like that is refreshing for me and lift me high above all my egoistic problems and ambitions.
Another name of Jesus is Emmanuel – God is with us. The Lord is really with us. But are we with Him too? Are we ready to accept his pleading to come back to Him and have peace?
If God is begging us to come back and have peace with Him it is worthy to obey :)

THE BEGINNING

Hello friends. Here, in this blog, I will try to express my thoughts and feelings in English. I have some friends who are not speaking Bulgarian and they are not able to follow my life span and to participate in my discussions. So with this I will try to translate and share all I write in English. God help me Amen.
I hope we will have fun time together.
Blessings
Ludmil
